Turkey's total hazelnut harvest is 865 thousand tons, with 105 thousand tons of stock transferred from last year. This shows that 61 percent of the worldwide production will be met from Turkey.
While it ranks first in hazelnut production with 760 thousand tons, Turkey is followed by Italy with 150 thousand tons and the USA with 86 thousand tons.
More reliable data on yield will emerge as a result of the field studies of the teams in late June and mid-July.
